Samantha Evamy

Counselling based in St Ives, Cornwall

How are you feeling today?
Life can be a challenge. Sometimes, just getting from day to day can wear us down. Reaching out for support can feel like one more challenge you don’t need.
But talking with someone who isn’t a friend or family member can offer the freedom to explore and come to terms with difficult feelings, and unlock ways for you to move forward and flourish.

About me

How can I help?

As a counsellor, what I offer is a warm, non-judgmental approach and the chance for you to explore your thoughts and feelings at your own pace. With this support can come the healing and clarity needed to reach your own conclusions and solutions.

The aim is to help you find a way towards greater self-acceptance and resilience, and a life that feels more meaningful and purposeful to you.

My approach

I practise person-centred counselling which is based on the belief that there is a natural striving in every one of us for growth and fulfilment.

This approach offers empathy and understanding in a safe, accepting space, away from our usual circle. It can help us reflect on what we want from life, free ourselves from the emotional legacy of difficult experiences, and leave behind protective behaviours that no longer work for us.

What can I help with?

I work with people from across the spectrum of age and life experience dealing with issues such as anxiety, low mood, relationship difficulties, low self-esteem, addiction and bereavement. They might be feeling stuck, overwhelmed or lost, facing a challenging life event or navigating a time of transition.

The areas I specialise in are:

  • Addiction
  • Affairs and betrayals
  • Alcohol Issues
  • Anxiety
  • Bereavement
  • Depression
  • Family difficulties
  • LGBTQ+ counselling
  • Low motivation
  • Low self-confidence
  • Narcissistic behaviour
  • Relationship issues
  • Separation and divorce
  • Social anxiety
  • Stress
  • Suicidal thoughts

“So often, when we feel lost, adrift in our lives, our first instinct is to look out into the distance to find the nearest shore. But that shore, that solid ground, is within us. The anchor we are searching for is connection, and it is internal.”
Brené Brown, Atlas of the Heart
