How are you feeling today?
Feeling stuck? Lost? Confused? Overwhelmed?
Maybe you’re facing a challenging life event, navigating a time of transition, or generally feeling unsure of the best way forward for you.
Life can be a challenge. But talking with someone who isn’t a friend or family member can offer the freedom to explore and come to terms with difficult feelings, and unlock ways for you to move forward and flourish.

About me

How can I help?

I work with individuals and couples dealing with issues ranging from anxiety, bereavement, low mood, low self-esteem and addiction to relationship difficulties, including breakups and betrayals.

My role is to create a safe, supportive space in which you can talk freely and confidentially about how you’re feeling with someone from outside your usual circle.

My approach

I work with individual clients from across the spectrum of age and life experience, adopting a person-centred approach.

Offering warmth and acceptance, I’ll support you in exploring your thoughts and feelings at your own pace, allowing you to gain more clarity and understanding, and reach your own conclusions and solutions. The aim, over a series of sessions, is to help you find a way towards greater self-acceptance and resilience, and a life that feels more meaningful and purposeful to you.

My work with couples focuses on areas such as communication, conflict, trust and connection. My approach here is more integrative, drawing on different relationship theories, models and strategies.

“So often, when we feel lost, adrift in our lives, our first instinct is to look out into the distance to find the nearest shore. But that shore, that solid ground, is within us. The anchor we are searching for is connection, and it is internal.”

So, how does it work?

I offer face-to-face or online sessions.

Face-to-face sessions take place at my therapy room at the Edward Hain Centre, a community wellness hub in St Ives with its own parking.

To allow you to get a better understanding of counselling and how we might work together, I offer a free, initial 20-minute phone call.

Our first session provides the opportunity to decide whether I am the right fit for you before proceeding with therapy. We can discuss what brings you to therapy and what you’d like to get out of our sessions, and you can get a better sense of my style and approach. We can also agree on a planned duration of our work together; I offer both short and long-term therapy.

Sessions for individual clients are an hour long, and 75 minutes for couples.
